Renée Crittenden-Garcia is an award-winning communicator, small business and non-profit executive, and entrepreneur providing freelance communications, business development and project management consulting.

Renee says she is, “passionate about the promotion of people and organizations.” She has more than 24 years of experience in strategic planning, program management, business development, client services, message management, creative direction, media relations and special events in the non-profit, corporate and small business sectors.

She served as VP of Marketing, Communications & Public Affairs for the North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and was integral to helping the city’s second largest Chamber reimagine its connectivity to the community. She led the Chamber’s efforts to help members compete in the digital age by enhancing the individual membership experience through increased visibility via digital and social media platforms and a content marketing strategy. Renee was responsible for event and Chamber marketing communications and public relations; digital and social media strategy; membership development and retention; operations and development efforts for the Chamber’s 501 (c)(3); engagement with elected officials and communication of the Chamber’s legislative agenda; and member and community relations. In 2013, the North SA Chamber’s overall marketing strategy, website and social media programs were recognized in the largest Chamber size category by the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives with Media Excellence Awards.

Renee was owner of HUB and SMWBE certified Crittenden Communications, LLC, a communications consulting firm she founded in 2004 following a four-year role as principal and partner of public relations, marketing and advertising agency, Connolly & Company. She has worked for RK Group/Circa Texas, Regnier Valdez & Associates and the Nix Health Care System.

Renee earned a B.A. in communications, with an emphasis in public relations from The University of Texas at San Antonio. She is proud to have worked with teams that have been recognized with a national Clarion Award and numerous San Antonio chapter awards from the Association for Women in Communications (AWC) and Addy Awards from the San Antonio Advertising Federation. In 2001, was named one of San Antonio’s “40 Under 40 Rising Stars” by the San Antonio Business Journal while also graduating from the North SA Chamber’s Leadership Lab academy.

She has dedicated much time and talent to advance higher education, economic development, medical research, women’s and children’s issues and in support of the Catholic Church. She is a parishioner at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She has served her alma mater on the UTSA Alumni Association board of directors and was a three-time chair of the Alumni Gala. She is a former President and member of the AWC local chapter board of directors and has served numerous organizations including troop leader for Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas; board member for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Foundation, Seton Home and North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce; and chair of numerous programs, events and campaigns on behalf of the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation and the Chamber.
